I am receiving new messages, but I can’t view any of them. The new message bar is gone in my kik app. I don’t know if anyone else here is having the same problem, but people on Reddit are. One redditor got a response from kik support:

We have identified that the issue you are experiencing is associated with new chat requests (users you haven't chatted with before). However, you should still receive chat messages from groups and users on your contact list. There is no workaround, and we suggest you do not reinstall or sign out of the Kik app, as this will remove the messages in the backend. In addition, please note that you are still receiving notifications of new chat requests.

Nevertheless, our Development Team is investigating the problem associated with new chat requests, and we have also removed the New Chats tab while we work to fix this problem. We do not have a timeframe for when the issue will be resolved.

We are sorry for this inconvenience.

Sounds like this is an issue for everyone, but I’m not sure. Is anyone else here having this issue? Please reply below if you are.
