25 years of AWA? That CAN’T be exquisite. Fact is, when a bunch of Atlanta anime nerds got together in 1994 and said “let’s placed on a show,” we figured we’d secure perhaps a hundred attendees, we’d show some anime and promote every other some junk and review at every other’s costumes, and perhaps we wouldn’t lose too grand cash. Then we’d exclaim every other that we’d executed it, after which we’d amble on about our business.

As it became out, better than 300 badge-buying fans confirmed up. We did show a few anime, a few merch got moved, a few costumers became up, and the convention truly agonize in the murky. Year One wasn’t even cold and we were already making plans for subsequent Three hundred and sixty five days.

Twenty five years later, the convention has moved six or seven times, has grown exponentially exquisite along with the recognition of Jap animation, is held in world class convention services and products the usage of articulate of the paintings AV tools, and yet, peaceable retains some of that “let’s placed on a show” perspective. It be peaceable staffed by a crew of volunteers – some 25 Three hundred and sixty five days veterans among them – and each person’s expecting losing their regular lifestyles for a couple of days and immersing themselves in the anime con world.
I am so much of 25 Three hundred and sixty five days lifers, and even supposing the out-of-body-panic of the early years has venerable to a boring yowl, I peaceable secure a kick out of presenting panels and screening goofy shorts, and I hope I consistently will.
Right here’s what I am as much as this Three hundred and sixty five days:

Three separate panels on three separate days celebrate twenty five years of Anime Weekend Atlanta! I am gonna be on at least one amongst those!
Friday night time Anime Hell is again for 2 hours of tasty short beget Jap animation or Jap or animation or despite appears to be like to form americans teach. Guaranteed to confuse!
