Number 2558: The colossal shell recreation

I discussed last week that artist Cut Viscardy started his comedian e book occupation as a young man. The Wikipedia entry on Cut Viscardy a/ample/a Cut Cardy (title frail for comedian e book art work) and Cut Cardi (frail for illustration art work) says this:

“Cardy becme the major DC quilt artist from the early to mid-1970s.

“A preferred but apocryphal memoir, suggested by DC editor Julius Schwartz, concerned Cardy being fired by DC editorial director Carmine Infantino for no longer following a quilt layout, most sensible to be rehired moments later when Schwartz praised the errant quilt art work. Cardy said in 2005: ‘At with out a doubt one of many conventions … I said, ‘You understand, Carmine, Julie Schwartz wrote something in [his autobiography] that I form no longer keep in mind the least bit and it would no longer sound like you the least bit.’ And I suggested him the incident … and he said, ‘That is crazy. You understand I constantly loved your work. Gee, you were with out a doubt one of many most easy artists within the industrial. The fellow’s crazy.’ So I said, ‘Okay, attain on.’ We went over to Julie Schwartz’s desk and we suggested him what our express used to be. And Carmine and I said, ‘We form no longer keep in mind the incident.’ So Julie said, ‘Successfully, or no longer it is a long way a true story, anyway.’ [Laughs] And that used to be it. He let it plod at that. [Laughs] He lawful made it up.’”

Cardy did this story for DC. Nice art work, and he did some nice drawings of the monsters within the story. In lately at DC it seemed to me that every comedian, extensive hero, mystery and even among the young other folks’ comics, had some forms of monsters. This discipline of Home of Secrets and ideas #40 (1961) is one I came across in my basement in a field of all coverless comics from that abilities which I supplied (low-fee) years ago. After I flipped by technique of them I realized a memoir drawn by Cut Cardy, so I read it. The story itself is crazy…the hero goes after a girl from a fantasy, which is rarely a true position to be taught about ladies. Nevertheless the art work is representative of Cardy’s regular true job no matter the quirky story, which is why I am exhibiting it.
