It be roughly became a custom for Rise up to commence a Ken Reid series in time for Christmas. 2017 brought us Faceache, 2018 brought us Creepy Creations (no longer forgetting the nice Energy Pack books independently published) and this time we now gain World Broad Weirdies.
This impressive hardback volume offers us all of Ken’s grotesque attend web page illustrations from Shiver and Shake and Whoopee! from October 1974 to November 1976. Two years of amazing Ken Reid illustrations! Within the long-established comics, the guidelines had been suggestions from readers that Ken become fine detailed creatures. The readers don’t appear to be credited but every illustration carries the date of the long-established droll.
For my money, Ken’s excellent work became once his Odhams fabric for Wham!, Shatter!, and Pow!, BUT these illustrations are with out concerns on the same manic, detailed stage as any of his 1960s fabric. IPC tended to restrain Ken a diminutive (in particular in his later years) but it absolutely’s certain from this e book that he must gain relished the freedom to slice unfastened and bear such great imagery.
Ken Reid’s World Broad Weirdies is an radiant e book exhibiting a relate humorist at the peak of his powers. Although the long-established art is sadly long gone (destroyed or sold off) the scans from the ragged comics are sharp and radiant. Invent no longer omit this e book!
